The CPCB Common EPR Portal at epr.cpcb.gov.in is the single sign-on (SSO) platform for EPR registration and compliance in India. A new applicant creates an SSO account to receive a Common EPR ID (CEPR ID); existing plastic EPR users should sign in, link their legacy registration and verify migrated records before filing. CPCB states that the stand-alone plastic portal was discontinued on 28 June 2026 and user data migrated to the Common EPR Portal. Check the CPCB portal directory and sign in through the Common EPR Portal. See the full Plastic Waste EPR Registration guide.
What is the Common EPR Portal?
Earlier, CPCB ran separate portals for each waste stream, each with its own credentials. The Common EPR Portal replaces that with a single sign-on dashboard. CPCB's own EPR portal notices state that SSO is live at epr.cpcb.gov.in and that FAQs and user manuals are available there.
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| SSO | One login that opens every EPR module linked to your entity |
| CEPR ID | The Common EPR ID identifying your entity across waste streams |
| Streams covered | Plastic packaging, e-waste, battery waste, waste tyres, used oil |
Migration does not change your plastic EPR obligations; targets, labelling, recycled-content rules and annual returns continue as before.
If you already have a plastic EPR registration
- Log in at epr.cpcb.gov.in using the SSO route and complete the master account setup if prompted.
- Link your legacy registrations. Select the waste-stream registrations your company holds, such as plastic packaging, so they appear on your dashboard.
- Verify your migrated data. Check company details, authorised person, category-wise quantities, certificates and past returns.
- Fix mismatches before you transact or file. Use the portal's support channel for corrections.
If you are a new applicant
- Create your SSO account and obtain your CEPR ID on the Common EPR Portal.
- Open the plastic packaging module and select your role (Producer, Importer, Brand Owner or Plastic Waste Processor).
- Complete the application following our plastic EPR registration process, with documents from our document checklist.
- Pay the fee shown on the portal; see plastic EPR registration fees for the reported slabs.
Common login and data problems
- Lost or inaccessible authorised-person details. CPCB's portal notices mention a "Lost Credentials" option on the login page for updating authorised-person details.
- Old links and bookmarks. Guidance and bookmarks pointing to the earlier plastic portal address may be outdated.
- Unlinked registrations. A stream missing from the dashboard usually means the legacy account was not linked.
- Data differences after migration. Quantities, certificates or returns that look different from your records need correcting before filing.
Check before you file a return
- Your CEPR ID and plastic registration both appear on the dashboard.
- Migrated category-wise data and certificate balances match your records.
- You have the latest CPCB notice on filing dates. See our plastic EPR annual return filing guide.
Key takeaways
- One SSO login and CEPR ID now cover all EPR waste streams.
- Migrate, link and verify existing registrations before doing anything else.
- Obligations are unchanged; only the access route moved.
